👤 Who gets reorder emails

Choose whether reminders go out on dates Easy Reorder works out, on dates customers pick themselves, or both.

Written by Miles

Easy Reorder can email customers on dates it works out for them, on dates they pick themselves, or both. You choose which, in one place.

🛠️ Where to find it

  1. In the Easy Reorder app, go to Emails → Settings

  2. Find the Who gets reorder emails card

  3. Under Send reorder emails to, choose an option

  4. Click Save

Reorder emails also need to be switched on. If they're off, the card shows a warning and nobody gets an email. Turn them on with the Send reorder emails switch on the Overview tab.

🔘 The three options

Every customer, automatically

This is the default. Reminders go out on the dates Easy Reorder works out for each customer and product. The date picker stays hidden, so nothing changes on your Thank you or Order status pages.

Every customer, and customers can pick their own date

Same as above, plus a small date picker for your customers. A customer who picks a date gets their first reorder email on that day instead of the automatic date. Customers who don't pick still get the automatic emails.

Only customers who pick a date

No automatic reminders at all. Only customers who pick a date in the date picker get emails, starting on that day. This is for stores that would rather let customers decide.

📅 What happens when a customer picks a date

The date picker is a small block on your Thank you page and your Order status page. Customers choose from quick picks (14, 30 or 60 days to start with), type their own number of days, or pick a date on a calendar.

  • The picked date replaces the first automatic email for that order. The customer doesn't get both

  • Your follow-up emails continue after it, as usual

  • If the customer picks again, the date moves. They never get two

  • A picked date isn't held back by your Minimum days between emails setting. The customer asked for that day

  • Everything else still applies: customers you've excluded and products excluded by tag. A picked reminder also waits if the variant is out of stock (it shows Waiting for stock on the Queued tab and is skipped as Out of stock after 14 days). Customers who've unsubscribed, reported a reminder as spam or whose address bounces are never emailed, even if they picked a date

To add the date picker to your pages, and to change its wording and choices, see Let customers pick their reminder date.

🔁 Switching between options

You can change your mind any time. Pick another option and click Save.

If you switch to Only customers who pick a date:

  • No new automatic reminders are scheduled

  • Automatic first emails that were already waiting are held. On the Queued tab they show as Held, with the reason "Emails go only to customers who pick a date"

  • Follow-up emails to customers who already got an email keep going

  • Backfill reminders has nothing to do in this mode, so it asks you to switch first

📊 See how it's going

  • Widgets → Reorder reminder → Results shows dates picked, emails sent from picks, and reorders from picks for the last 30 days

  • Emails → Activity log marks emails sent because of a picked date with a badge, like "Picked 30 days"

  • Analytics splits reorders by where they came from, including "Picked date"

  • Each customer's page shows when they picked a date

💡 Which option should I choose?

  • Not sure? Start with the first option. It's the simplest, and you can switch later

  • Want to give customers a say without losing any automatic reminders? Choose the second

  • Prefer to email only the people who ask? Choose the third
