📅 Let customers pick their reminder date (Thank you and Order status pages)

Add a small card to your Thank you and Order status pages where customers pick when they'd like their reorder email.

Written by Miles

Right after checkout is when customers know best how long a product will last. The reorder reminder widget lets them tell you: a small card on your Thank you page and your Order status page where they pick when they'd like a reorder email.

🛍️ What customers see

A small card with:

  • A heading: Get a reorder reminder

  • A message: Pick when we should email you to reorder.

  • Quick picks for 14 days, 30 days and 60 days. One click saves the choice

  • A box to type their own number of days: Or enter days (up to 90)

  • A box to pick a date on a calendar: Or pick a date. The calendar opens 30 days out

  • A Remind me button, which sends the date or the number of days they filled in

Once they pick, they see: "We'll email you on November 14, 2026. Pick again to change it." (with the date they chose)

All of that wording is yours to change. See "Change its text and choices" below.

✅ Before you start

  1. Reorder emails need to be switched on. Go to Emails → Overview and turn on Send reorder emails

  2. Go to Emails → Settings → Who gets reorder emails and choose Every customer, and customers can pick their own date or Only customers who pick a date. The widget stays hidden while it's set to Every customer, automatically. See "Who gets reorder emails."

  3. For the Order status page: it works with new customer accounts only

🛠️ Add the widget to your pages

  1. In the Easy Reorder app, go to Widgets. You'll land on the Reorder reminder tab

  2. In the Where it shows card, click Add or check in the checkout editor. Shopify's checkout editor opens in a new tab

  3. Choose the Thank you page, add the app block called "Reorder reminder picker", and save

  4. Then choose the Order status page, add the app block called "Reorder reminder picker (order status)", and save

Place it wherever it fits your page. Colors and fonts come from your checkout's own style, so the widget matches the rest of the page automatically.

You don't have to add it to both pages. Many stores start with just the Thank you page.

In the editor, you'll always see a preview, even if customers can't see the widget yet. If it's switched off, the preview says so and tells you where to turn it on.

✏️ Change its text and choices

Back in Easy Reorder, Widgets → Reorder reminder has everything you can change. A live preview is on the right.

Text

  • Heading, Message and Button

  • After they pick: the message after a customer picks. {date} becomes the date they picked

  • Same text on both pages: turn this off to give the Order status page its own wording

Choices

  • Quick picks (days): up to five. It starts with 14, 30 and 60. Type a number and click Add, or remove one

  • Let customers type their own number of days, with its Label (use {max} in the label to show the most days allowed)

  • Most days allowed: between 7 and 365 days, 90 to start with. Quick picks above it are dropped when you save

  • Let customers pick a date on a calendar, with its Label

Click Save in the bar at the top when you're done.

📅 What happens next

  • The date a customer picks replaces the first automatic email for that order. The customer doesn't get both

  • Your follow-up emails continue after it, as usual

  • If the customer picks again, the date moves. They never end up with two

  • It's the same email you set up under Emails → Sequence, so customers get the wording and design you've chosen

🔐 Who can pick a date

  • Right after checkout, on the Thank you page, for the order they just placed

  • Later, from the Order status page, when they're signed in to their customer account

  • Not customers who carry one of your Excluded customer tags. They see a message that reminders aren't available for the order

  • Not while reorder emails are off

A customer who picked a date but later unsubscribed from your reminders, reported one as spam, or whose address bounces is not emailed, even on the date they picked. If the product is out of stock on that day, the email waits until it's back.

📊 See what it brings in

Widgets → Reorder reminder → Results shows the last 30 days:

  • Dates picked (and how many were on each page)

  • Emails sent from picks

  • Reorders from picks, with the revenue

  • Most picked choice

Analytics shows these reorders as "Picked date" in "Where reorders came from," and each customer's page shows the date they picked.

🔧 The widget isn't showing

Check these, in order:

  1. Is Send reorder emails on, in Emails → Overview?

  2. Is Who gets reorder emails set to something other than Every customer, automatically?

  3. Did you add the block to the page, and save in the checkout editor?

  4. On the Order status page, are you using new customer accounts?

  5. Is the customer excluded by a customer tag?
