🎨 Customize your reminder emails

Design your reminder emails with the block editor: 17 block types, fonts, your logo, the footer and postal address, and source code.

Written by Miles

The emails Easy Reorder sends are fully customizable. You can change the layout, colors, fonts, copy, and images using a block-based email editor, no coding required.

🛠️ Open the email editor

  1. In the Easy Reorder app, go to Emails → Sequence

  2. You'll see your reminder emails (E1–E5, up to five), each with a status badge (Draft or Active)

  3. Click Edit next to the email you want to customize

The block-based editor opens with a preview on the right.

🗺️ Getting around the editor

  • Top bar: click the email's name to rename it. The E1–E5 buttons switch between your emails (an E with a + creates the next one). On the right are the Active / Draft status button, Send test and Save

  • Subject and preheader: the two boxes under the top bar. The little buttons under them insert variables into the subject, such as the customer's first name or the product title

  • Left panel: the Blocks and Source Code tabs

  • Right panel: a live preview. Switch between Desktop and Mobile to check both

Your changes aren't saved until you click Save (it shows Save * when something is unsaved).

🧱 Available blocks

Click + Add block to add any of these 17 block types. Drag blocks up and down to reorder them, and click a block to open its settings. Expand all and Collapse all open or close every block at once.

  • Preheader: preview text shown in the inbox

  • Header: logo or store name

  • Label: a small line of text, like "FIRST REMINDER"

  • Heading: large title text

  • Text: paragraph copy

  • Image: any image, by its web address

  • Product Card: fills in automatically with the product being reminded about. If a customer has several products due, it shows one card for each

  • Button: a clickable button

  • Divider: visual separator

  • Spacer: vertical whitespace

  • Testimonial: a customer quote

  • Footer: small print and links, plus your business address and a copyright line

  • Navigation: a row of links, like Shop · Orders · Contact

  • Snooze: the "Not ready? Snooze for:" links (read more in The "remind me later" snooze link)

  • Social Links: Instagram, Facebook and other links

  • Coupon Code: show a discount code from your store

  • Custom HTML: your own code

📮 Footer, unsubscribe link and postal address

Two lines at the bottom of every email are added for you and can't be edited or removed:

  • "You're receiving this because you ordered from {your store}."

  • An Unsubscribe link

Anti-spam laws (such as CAN-SPAM) require a business postal address in marketing emails. Put yours in the Address field of the Footer block. If the editor can't find an address in a visible Footer block, it shows a reminder: "Add your business postal address in the Footer block. Anti-spam laws (such as CAN-SPAM) require one in every marketing email." It's only a reminder, and emails still send without an address. If you edit the email's HTML directly in Source Code, the reminder doesn't appear.

✨ Per-block customization

For every block, you can adjust things like:

  • Colors (text, background, button)

  • Padding and spacing

  • Font size

  • Alignment

  • Link addresses

Click any block in the list to see its options.

🔤 Fonts

Fonts are set for the whole email, not block by block. At the bottom of the Blocks tab, under Global email settings, pick a Heading font and a Body font independently, and set the Base font size (px). The lists include Google Fonts that render reliably in email clients.

🖼️ Your logo

The Header block shows your logo when you've added one under Emails → Settings → Sender identity. See Set your sender name and where replies go.

🧑‍💻 Source code

Comfortable with HTML? The Source Code tab shows the email's HTML, which you can edit directly, plus a box for custom CSS. Once you edit the HTML, the blocks stop affecting the email until you click Reset to blocks.

💡 Pro Tip: keep it simple

The highest-converting reminder emails tend to be short and visual. A heading, a product card, and a single big button is usually enough. Resist the urge to over-design. Your customer just wants to reorder.

📝 Draft and Active

Each email is either Draft or Active. Only Active emails are sent. Click the status button in the top bar to switch, or use the menu next to the email on the Sequence tab.

🔙 Start over

Reset to default at the bottom of the Blocks tab puts the email back to the standard design. You'll be asked to confirm with Yes, reset.

🧪 Don't forget to test

Before going live, send yourself a test email so you can see exactly how it renders in your inbox. We cover testing in Send a test email before going live.
