🤖 Using reorder links in automated flows

Put reorder links in your Klaviyo, Shopify Email or SMS flows, or let Easy Reorder add them to your Klaviyo profiles for you.

Written by Miles

To get the most out of reorder links (formerly called magic links), you can embed them directly into your automated email or SMS flows using tools like Klaviyo, Shopify Email, Postscript, or Omnisend. This makes it easy to remind customers to reorder, without requiring a login.

Common flows to include reorder links:

  • 🕒 Post-purchase reorder reminders (e.g., 14–30 days after purchase)

  • 🔁 Repeat purchase nudges for consumables or refills

  • 🛒 Abandoned reorder flows (if customer viewed reorder page but didn't complete)

  • 💤 Winback campaigns for lapsed customers

🔗 How Reorder Links Work

Reorder links require two dynamic values:

  • Customer email address

  • ZIP/Postal Code from one of their orders

These are used to securely identify and load the correct reorder page for each customer. If the zip is missing, the link still opens the sign-in page with the email filled in, and the customer types their zip.

🛠️ How to Build a Dynamic Reorder Link

The standard link format is:

To make this work:

  • Replace {{email}} and {{zip}} with the correct dynamic tags from your email/SMS platform

  • Check your platform's documentation to find those tags

📍 The part after your store's web address (/a/easy-reorder above) is your reorder page address. It may be different on your store if you changed it in Shopify, or if you chose a page in your theme as your main reorder page. To see the exact address, open Settings → Reorder Page in Easy Reorder and look at "Your reorder page". Use that address in every flow, and keep ?email=...&zip=... after it.

📘 Examples

Klaviyo:

https://your-shopify-url.com/a/easy-reorder?email={{ person.email|default:'' }}&zip={{ person.location.zip|default:'' }}

Shopify Order Confirmation Email:

{{shop.url}}/a/easy-reorder?email={{email}}&zip={{customer.default_address.zip}}

📌 Be sure to test your link in a live or preview environment before sending it to customers.

🔌 Klaviyo: let Easy Reorder fill it in for you

If you connect Klaviyo under Integrations, Easy Reorder puts each customer's ready-made reorder link on their Klaviyo profile, in a property called "ER Reorder Link". It already contains their email and zip, so you don't need to build the link yourself. Use it in any Klaviyo email or flow to send customers straight to their reorder page. In Klaviyo the property is {{ person|lookup:'ER Reorder Link' }}. Customers on a subscription don't get one.

Estimated reorder dates, and a "Reorder Due" event on that date, are coming later, once our reorder predictions leave beta. For now Klaviyo gets the link only. See Connect Klaviyo to send reorder reminders from your own flows.

Not connected yet? See the Klaviyo steps on the Integrations page, where you paste a Klaviyo private API key and click "Connect Klaviyo".

⚠️ Note:

Reorder links provide access only to the reorder experience, not to the customer's full Shopify account. They're safe, secure, and designed for quick reordering only.
