Want to make reordering as easy as one click? With Easy Reorder, you can add a smart reorder button to your Shopify order confirmation emails. When clicked, it pre-fills the customer's info and shows them their last order, with no login required. (This kind of link used to be called a magic link. We now call it a reorder link.)
Here's how to add it in just a few minutes.
🔧 Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Go to Shopify Email Notifications
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Notifications
Under Order Notifications, click Order Confirmation
2. Open the Email Template
Click Edit code on the confirmation email
You'll see the HTML for the email body
Scroll to where you'd like the button (we recommend near the bottom)
3. Paste in the Reorder Button HTML
Copy and paste the following code where you want the button to appear:
<table class="row actions" style="padding: 10px 0; width: 100%;">
<tr>
<td class="empty-line"><hr style="border-color: #EBEBEB;"></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="actions__cell" style="padding: 10px 0; text-align: center;">
<table class="button main-action-cell" style="width: 100%; margin: 0 auto;">
<tr>
<td style="text-align: center; padding: 10px 0;"><strong>Running Low? Reorder With Ease</strong></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td style="text-align: center;">
<a href="{{shop.url}}/a/easy-reorder?email={{email}}&zip={{customer.default_address.zip}}" style="background-color: #000; color: #ffffff; padding: 12px 24px; text-decoration: none; border-radius: 6px; display: inline-block;">
Reorder This Purchase
</a>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="empty-line"><hr style="border-color: #EBEBEB;"></td>
</tr>
</table>👉 This link sends the customer to their personalized reorder page using:
{{ email }} = the customer's email address
{{ customer.default_address.zip }} = their zip code
📍 Check that the address matches your store
The code above uses the standard reorder page address, /a/easy-reorder, added to your store's web address with {{shop.url}}. That is the address Easy Reorder uses unless you've changed it.
The address may differ if you:
Changed the reorder page address in Shopify (Settings → Apps → Easy Reorder → App proxy URL), for example to
/apps/reorder. See Change your reorder page address.Chose "A page in your theme" as your main reorder page in Settings → Reorder Page, for example
/pages/reorder. See Use a theme page as your reorder page.
To see the address your store uses today, open Settings → Reorder Page in Easy Reorder and look at "Your reorder page". If it doesn't end in /a/easy-reorder, replace /a/easy-reorder in the code above with the part that comes after your store's web address, and keep everything from ?email= onward.
Good to know: if you changed the address in Shopify, Easy Reorder forwards the old address to the new one, so confirmation emails that already went out keep working. Updating the code in your template keeps new emails pointing straight at the right page.
4. Save Your Changes
Click Save in the top right corner
Done! Your confirmation emails will now include a one-click reorder button
💡 Pro Tip:
You can change the button styling to match your brand by adjusting the HTML.
