The floating reorder button is a small button that stays on screen as shoppers browse your store. When a returning customer opens it, they see their last order and can add it all to the cart in one click, from any page.
It's a quick way to bring customers back to the products they already buy, without sending them to a separate page first.
🛠️ How to turn it on
In the Easy Reorder app, go to Widgets and open the "Floating button" tab
Under "Show it", tick "Show the floating button". It's off until you do
Check that the "Easy Reorder" app embed is on. It usually already is. The "Open App embeds" button takes you to it in the theme editor. One switch covers your reorder page, its search tag and this button
Change the look and wording if you like (see below), then click Save in the bar that appears at the top
A live preview on the right shows your changes as you make them. Use the "Desktop" and "Phone" buttons to switch views, and tick "Show popup" to see the popup too. The preview uses sample products. Shoppers see their real last order.
👀 Who sees it
Choose this under "Who sees it":
"Customers with past orders" (the default): customers who are signed in to your store, shoppers who signed in on your reorder page with their email and zip on this device, and shoppers who have just ordered on this device, even if they checked out as a guest. They get the button with the popup of their last order
"Also returning visitors": everything above, plus a plain Reorder link for visitors who have used your reorder page or come from a reminder email before. It takes them to your reorder page, with no popup
The button never shows on your reorder page, on the cart page or at checkout.
Everyone else sees nothing, so a first-time visitor never gets a button that has nothing to offer.
Guests who just ordered
After checkout, Easy Reorder signs shoppers in for reorders on that device for 90 days, even guests. So a guest can open the floating button, or your reorder page, and reorder without typing their email and zip.
On another device, they sign in once with their email and zip
You have nothing to set up. Easy Reorder adds this itself
For more ways in, see How reorder links work and how to use them.
❌ Letting shoppers close it
"Let customers close the button" is on by default. It adds a small X to the button, labelled "Hide reorder button" for screen readers
"Stay hidden for" sets how long it stays away on that device once someone closes it: "Rest of the visit", "1 day", "7 days" (the default) or "30 days"
Turn the first one off and the button stays put.
📱 On phones
These two settings apply to screens under 750px wide:
"Hide on mobile devices": tick it to not show the button on phones at all. It's off by default
"On mobile devices": what a tap does. "Go to the reorder page" (the default) takes the shopper straight to your reorder page. "Open full-screen popup" shows their last order in a full-screen window instead
Shoppers who are signed in are signed in on the reorder page automatically, so "Go to the reorder page" doesn't ask them for anything.
🎨 Look and placement
Under "Look":
"Style": "Circle (icon only)", "Pill (icon and text)" (the default) or "Side tab (vertical text)"
"Tab corners" (side tab only): Square, Rounded (the default) or Cut corners. Cut corners hide the border
"Position": for the circle and the pill, "Bottom left" or "Bottom right" (the default). The tab style also offers "Left edge", "Right edge" and "Bottom center". On the left and right edges the text runs vertically; at the bottom it runs across
"Height on the page": for a tab on the left or right edge. 5 to 95 percent, where 50 is the middle
"Space from the bottom": for the circle and the pill. 0 to 300 px. The default is 24
"Space from the side": 0 to 200 px. The default is 24
"Size": Small, Medium (the default) or Large
"Show the icon": on by default. A circle always shows its icon
Under "Colors", each takes a hex code like #111111 or a pick from the color square:
"Button background": #111111 to start with
"Button text": #ffffff to start with
"Border (optional)": leave it empty, or click None, for no border
✍️ Wording
Under "Text":
"Button": the label on the button. Up to 30 characters. The standard wording is "Reorder"
"Popup title": the heading in the popup. The standard wording is "Welcome back, {name}", and {name} becomes the customer's first name. If we don't know the name, the greeting drops it
"Popup subtitle": the line under the title. The standard wording is "Your last order". Leave it empty to hide it
"Add everything button": up to 40 characters. The standard wording is "Add all to cart"
"Link to the reorder page": up to 60 characters. The standard wording is "See all past orders"
If you clear one of these fields, the standard wording comes back. The one exception is the subtitle, which then stays hidden.
🛍️ What shoppers see
On a computer, the popup opens right next to the button. It shows:
The title and subtitle
Up to four products from their last order, each with its image and a line like "(2) Dog treats, 12 oz", the quantity first and then the product title. Each one links to its product page. If the order has more, a "+ 2 more" line shows how many
The "Add all to cart" button, which puts the order in their cart and takes them to the cart page. Items that are sold out are skipped, and if none can be added they see a short message that they aren't available right now
The "See all past orders" link to your reorder page
On a phone with "Open full-screen popup" chosen, the same content fills the screen.
📈 Results
At the top of the "Floating button" tab, "Results" shows how the button did over the last 30 days:
Seen by (sessions): visits where the button was shown
Opened: visits where the popup was opened
Added to cart: visits where "Add all to cart" put items in the cart
Went to reorder page: visits where a shopper went to your reorder page from the button or the popup
Opened a product: visits where a shopper clicked a product in the popup
Closed: visits where a shopper closed the button
Orders and Revenue: orders where the shopper added items through the floating button, or came to the reorder page from it
Conversion: orders divided by seen
Counts are per visit and start from the day you turned the button on, so a new button starts at zero.
🧾 Where its orders show up
Orders credited to the floating button show up in several places:
Analytics, in "Where reorders came from", as "Floating button"
Home, as a line such as "3 reorders came through the floating button". It only appears when there are some
The weekly recap email, in its breakdown by source
On the customer's page, an order is tagged "Via floating button"
💡 Tips
Use the Phone preview to check the button doesn't cover anything important on small screens
Not seeing the button on your own store? Check that you're signed in as a customer with a past order, or have ordered on this device. Then check that the "Easy Reorder" embed is on and saved. See The reorder page isn't showing up in my theme
