🛒 Add the recent order widget to your storefront

Show returning customers their last order anywhere in your theme. Add it in the theme editor and customize it on Widgets → Recent order widget.

Written by Miles

The Recent Order Widget is a small, compact version of your reorder page that you can drop anywhere in your theme: homepage, account page, product page, or even your cart page.

It's a great way to remind logged-in shoppers about products they've recently bought, without sending them to a dedicated reorder page.

✨ What it shows

The widget shows items from the customer's most recent order, each with:

Under the items there's a link to your full reorder page, "See everything you've bought" unless you change the wording.

It shows for shoppers who are signed in to your store and have ordered before. It also shows for guests who signed in on your reorder page, or who just ordered, on that device. For everyone else, including first-time customers, it stays invisible, so it never clutters your storefront.

🛠️ How to add the widget

  • In the Easy Reorder app, go to Widgets and open the "Recent order widget" tab

  • Click "Add to a page in the theme editor". This opens Shopify's theme editor in a new tab

  • Pick the page where you want the widget (e.g., your homepage or cart page) and position it where you want it

  • Click Save in the top right corner of the theme editor

You can also add it by hand: in the theme editor, open the page, click "Add section" (or "Add block", depending on your theme), look under Apps and choose "Recent Order Widget".

🎨 Customization options

You change the widget in the Easy Reorder app, on Widgets → "Recent order widget". There's a live preview next to the settings.

Text

  • Title — the heading above the items (standard wording: "Your Recent Order")

  • Button — the label on the add-to-cart button (standard wording: "Add to cart")

  • Link to the full reorder page — the link under the items (standard wording: "See everything you've bought"). Leave it empty to hide the link

Layout

  • Style — Grid or Carousel

  • Products per row — 1 to 6

  • Show the Add to cart button — on or off

  • Show a dropdown for size and options — on or off

  • Show Judge.me stars — shows each product's star rating once Judge.me is turned on in Integrations

Colors

  • Button background and Button text — leave them empty to use your reorder page colors from Settings → Colors

Once you save on the Widgets page (a save bar appears as soon as you change something), those settings replace the ones in the theme editor's block settings. The theme editor settings stay as a backup.

💡 Where to use it

Some popular placements:

  • 🏠 Homepage — front and center for returning customers

  • 👤 Account page — right where customers manage their orders

  • 🛍️ Product pages — encourage replenishment alongside browsing

  • 🛒 Cart page — bring back forgotten essentials before checkout

⚠️ Note

The widget only shows for customers who are signed in to their store account, and for guests who signed in on your reorder page or ordered recently on that device. For anyone else, it stays hidden — they won't see an empty widget or a login prompt. If you want every returning guest to be able to reorder, send them to your full reorder page (see Share your reorder page link) or use a reorder link (formerly called a magic link). To put a Reorder button on every page of your store instead, see Floating reorder button.

If you moved your reorder page to a new address or to a page in your theme, the widget's link follows it automatically.
